PILAR Design PILAR Design The blomus PILAR Collection of dinnerware was designed by Nina Thöming of Flöez Design in Germany. PILAR, a Spanish word from Maria del Pilar, meaning pillar or column, aptly expresses the exquisite shapes and curves of the dish line and its ability to be stacked with strength. The collection includes plates, bowls, serving dishes, mugs, tea, coffee and espresso items, and butter dishes. The line is available in four color combinations Moonbeam (cream), Agave Green, Mirage Grey (with light green undertones) and Pewter (charcoal). The colors and pieces can be mixed and matched to create a unique table setting. PILAR Features PILAR is dishwasher and microwave safePILAR stacks beautifully for in-cabinet or open-cabinet storage. Plates create lids for bowls.The outside of PILAR stoneware is matte, and the inside serving area is glazed for a design compliment and easy cleaning. PILAR Materials PILAR stoneware is manufactured from clay, quartz and minerals such as calcite and is defined as a ceramic product. The stoneware is molded at very high temperatures using casting techniques. The high temperatures during the firing process make stoneware more stable than clay and less translucent than porcelain. Due to the heating and glazing processes of stoneware, these pieces may have slightly different attributes which can add to their beauty and uniqueness.
