I've been using this product for years and I dropped it and it broke and I STILL used it for another year until I dropped it again. lol It's very heavy and durable but you cant throw it against concrete and not expect it to shatter. It was cheaper to purchase on here because I didnt have to pay shipping and I got it the next day. The company is in my city and it was going to cost more because I had to pay to have it delivered. Love the product. The only way I make coffee is with this.Love the color and I love the fact that it has a peek hole so you can see how much coffee is in the cup. This helps prevent overflows. Great concept. Love that it is ceramic vs. plastic. We already had the grey version that we bought at Target years ago. The missus wanted another one so we can brew two cups of coffee at a time. Got the cool aqua color one via Amazon this time since Target didn’t have any in stock. It arrived well packaged. Wrapped in bubble wrap placed in a small box which was placed in a larger box filled with the air bubble stuff for extra protection. Once you go with pour over coffee there’s no going back. We had various coffee brewing machines in the past. Bulky and difficult to clean. Just buy yourself this and a hot water heater (which you should have anyways since it’s great for making quick hot drinks and heating hummingbird water to dissolve sugar).Been using a coffee pour over for over 10 years, I even have a plastic one to take on trips with me, it's the only way to go. I didn't realize the attributes of a good pour over until I broke mine a year ago and was struggling to get one which performed as well. The key to a good pour over it the filtration rate. I just use the inexpensive 2 cup filters you find at every grocery store. The 4 things that determine how fast or how slow the coffee will come into your cup are coffee grind, hole size, number of holes and the rib depth. I didn't realize how important how important the later was until I purchased one with shallow ribs. The Chantal has it all with it's two hole pattern. It's the perfect size for the 2 cup filter and it does not weigh too much. The base diameter is perfect for most coffee cups and having a window at the bottom is nice to see your progress, no more over filled messes!I have three pour over drippers, including a Haro, and this is my favorite by far. Why?1. It holds a standard Melita #2 filter well.2. Makes a great coffee.3. Design of the pedestal base, with a lip, gives me complete confidence it will not slip off a cup.4. That same base is a bit bigger in diameter, working well with larger mugs which I prefer.5. The view windows means I don't overfill and no need to pick the filter holder up repeatedly during brewing to check the level.Again, my favorite.I had to order this product without much market research because my friend broke the one I had been using for a long time (bought at a boutique coffee store in London, England) and I only drink pourover coffee in the morning at home. Because my older one was shattered, the key feature I was looking for was a bit of sturdiness, even in ceramic form. (I refuse to use a plastic filter because of health concerns.)I have been using the filter for more than a month now. When it arrived, I was a bit surprised by the size of the filter. It was a lot bigger than the one I had in the past although both filters fit #2 paper filters. Similarly, the filter was a lot heavier than the one I had in the past. For those of you with weak wrist, you may want to take this into account. It's excessively heavy to make it impossible to use, but not as light as feather and definitely heavier than some other well-known ceramic filters. So, the most important part: coffee. I specifically wanted a filter with more than one hole at the bottom because I don't like the idea of a single hole. This one has two (maybe this is why I bought this). Because the holes are slightly on the smaller side compared to my previous one, the coffee comes out a bit slower, but not too slow. It takes about 10 seconds to get a 12oz mug filled. One thing I really love about this filter is the peeking hole, which allows me to know exactly how much water I should pour into the filter. This makes the pouring part so much more enjoyable as I don't have to worry about making too little or too much. This is a really good filter and I am very happy with my purchase. The only reason I gave this four stars is because of its size (takes up a bit of space in my cupboard) and its weight. Since I wanted a sturdier ceramic one, I guess I should have expected this. However, I have issues with my wrist and do not prefer heavy objects. For those without space or weight issues, this would be a perfect filter for that blissful homemade pourover cup of coffee.I love it. I broke my prior pour-over coffee maker that was glass, so I got this thicker one that's ceramic. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I don't have any complaints about the product. At home, okay. I bought it for work and it is large and clunky and I have to take it down to the break room to make coffee. It will be replaced by a lighter plastic one. Still, this is 4 star when you use at home and don't carry it around. Definitely bigger and heavier than I expected. But okay. Just don't buy a round one, the filters don't stay in place as you poor the water: this is flat so that isn't a problem. I had a round one and it looked more stylish but it didn't work and I there it out. This works. Just not at 5 star level. 4 will do.Love it. Very good design & well made. It fits all my coffee cups, small and large. The window is especially useful too!
