I live in a house that was built in the 1950s so I have an old style bathroom with lots of tile in it. Someone decided to use the towel bar that was over the bathtub as a pull bar. It is a towel bar, not a pull bar, so you can imagine what happened next! They pulled it out of the wall, tile and all. I had a terrible time finding this style and I didn't want a modern bar in a vintage bathroom. This was the ONLY place I could find this bar. The price - I feel - was a very good price. Installing it was another issue, but it has nothing to do with the quality of the towel bar. To install this, I had to remove tile that was grouted around where the towel bar was to be installed. It was not installed on top of tile but installed and the tile was cut around the bar. I had to carefully remove the tile - without damaging it - in order to properly install the bar, and after it was set in place, then had to grout and put the tile back in place. First time I've ever had to do something like this, so for me, it was a bit difficult. The bar looks as good as the original. There is no difference. It's absolutely perfect for the vintage appeal to my bathroom. So glad I found it. Definitely worth the work to replace. And the price was surprisingly good, considering I couldn't find this bar anywhere else.
