Description
Individually hand-cast in Germany for unyielding quality and craftsmanship, Ozeri proudly presents its Professional Series Ceramic Earth Fry Pan. Quadruple sealed, the Professional Series Ceramic Earth Fry Pan utilizes a 4-Ply ceramic coating that is hardened to perfection for scratch resistance and lifetime performance. Belonging to Ozeri’s Professional Series, the Ceramic Earth Fry Pan was developed with the uncompromising goal of the safest and healthiest cooking and utilizes an environmentally conscious coating that delivers long-lasting performance and non-stick perfection. This special coating exceeds all European Union guidelines for safe cooking and is absolutely free of substances such as GenX fluorinated chemicals, PFBS, PFOS, PFOA, bisphenols such as BPA, BPS and BPF, as well as APEO, and the lesser known chemicals NMP and NEP. According to the FDA, many of these chemicals constitute a worrisome class of nonstick and stain-resistant compounds that have found their way into the food chain, including grocery store meats and seafood. A federal toxicology report has linked a number of health concerns to the presence of these compounds in people’s blood. Although the harmful acid PFOA, and to a certain extent PFOS, have been generally phased out of production, non-stick coatings today are often made with the aid of a new generation of advanced fluoropolymers, known as GenX fluorinated chemicals and PFBS. According to EPA studies on these chemicals, the “data are suggestive of cancer” and when orally consumed, these chemicals may be capable of affecting the kidneys, blood, immune system, liver and developing fetuses. Also of concern are APEO chemicals (Alkylphenol ethoxylates), which are under restricted use in Germany due to concerns about their poor biodegradability and toxicity. Labelled ‘forever chemicals’ due to their poor degradability and tendency to accumulate in people’s bodies, the EPA and FDA have cited consistent studies of people exposed to many of these compounds that suggest associations with several kinds of cancers, liver problems, low birth weight and other issues, concluding that many of these compounds are more dangerous than previously thought. With the Professional Series Ceramic Earth Fry Pan, no such chemicals are ever released. In addition, the pan utilizes an inert coating that is also free of the potentially harmful chemicals NMP (N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone) and NEP (N-ethyl-2-pyrrolidone), sometimes found in traditional cookware. The Ozeri Professional Series Ceramic Earth Fry Pan is exemplary in its German craftsmanship and inductive technology, bringing you the finest cookware that Germany has to offer. Durable and scratch-resistant, it boasts a 9 mm aluminum core treated with a magnetized AISI 430 layer for use with rapid heat-transfer induction stoves, allowing this pan to maintain ideal cooking temperatures with less energy and time. Oven safe to 260 C / 500 F, and 100% hand-cast and made in Germany..

I purchased the removable handle version. This is a nonstick pan that is similar in weight and thickness to a cast iron pan. If you value built-to-last and performance similar to a cast iron pan, this is the one for you. My one complaint is the handle. Unlike the pan, which is built like a tank, the handle has a cheap and flimsy feel. It's attached by only one screw. The booklet says to says to use a flathead screwdriver if it comes loose. Well, it was very loose when it arrived from the factory. The first thing I had to do, was to tighten it. Even with the screw securely tightened, the handle still jiggles around a bit. Not a good first experience for such a high quality pan. I appreciate that the handle can be removed for placement in the oven, but would prefer a good quality, oven safe handle with a solid feel. It's not enough reason to take off a star, as I feel this pan is built better than any other nonstick pan that I know of. It's just . . . that handle. It's like putting cheap wheels on a Lambroghini. It's like building a mansion with great quality appliances, but then finishing it with the cheapest light fixtures that you can find at Walmart. Who does that?As it happens I had to replace a lot of cookware in my kitchen at once and I ended up buying several items from different brands. I own induction cooktop and not every piece is compatible with it. And this time I was determined to go high end, spend more and avoid buying stuff every several months, I was kind of tired of it.I bought 2 Ozeri pans. When soaked in soapy water they are just wiped with gentle sponge and they are clean. Heat is distributed evenly. They work superb with induction. Food comes out very tasty. There is no scratches, to be on a safe side I purchased 2 OXO plastic spoons to keep it this way but I am not sure it was so necessary, I just wanted them to last longer. I never use dishwasher, again, to have them longer, but I am not sure that I need to do it this way. I must say I never owned cookware so superb in every directionComparing to Breville. Breville Thermal Pro Hard Anodized Nonstick pans and pots do a good job. There are miniature scratches, however. I can say the same thing about heat distribution, washing, quality of food, but scratches are disappointing, considering that some pieces were 200+ dollars.Comparing to All Clad. I bought All-Clad NS1 Nonstick Induction Sauce Pan from other than Amazon site. I am extremely angry with All Clad.- After 2 months nonstick surface was peeling off.- The advertise that it works with induction, it does not. I have 3 induction and 2 non induction burners, so I can still use it but since I mostly use induction burners it makes my life harder. Considering that I paid 45 dollars for it I think it is sad- They promise lifetime warranty. I complained that I cannot use it as advertised and that it peeled, sent photos and in their response they skipped induction part and said that scratches and peels are normal tear and wear.To summarize for types of equipment that is sold by Ozeri(they don't sell 8 ounces pots, for example) I would recommend Ozeri over any brand I own.Nothing sticks and surface lasts years and years.I guess they call it pro for a reason. The pan is heavier than you might expect, but I got used to that immediately. Every time I handle it, the word "quality" comes to mind. It heats slowly and evenly and food never sticks. The size was an unexpected bonus. I like my 12" teflon pan, but this one is just a bit smaller, so easier to handle in spite of the weight...and, of course, it is safer. It has quickly become my goto pan. Just wish I had a lid that fit.Consistent cooking performance. Easy to clean. No toxic chemicals in your food. I actually am able to finish some recipes by putting the pan under the broiler for a few minutes. Try that with a $15.00 pan ! Quality product. Was looking for a healthy option that would last and we found it. Heavy, it distributes heat very well. I keep it on medium heat for everything and it has not shown any damage whatsoever I'm almost a year.I've only had it for a few weeks, but so far I really like it. Way better than my expensive Circulon pan, which never really lived up to it's potential and never really was as non-stick as I thought it might be.It makes great pancakes, because it heats up evenly, and retains the heat. I've made excellent pancakes without oiling the pan; I've made excellent fried eggs without oiling it. I tried some ground beef/onions/garlic a few nights ago, to make pasta sauce, and it came out fine and tasty.Mine also had the loose handle, held in place with one screw. I've tightened it down; hopefully it'll stay in place. If I could buy a 12" one, I would. I bought silicone spatula and pancake flipper to go with it, and I'm doing the hand-wash routine. Washes up easily and ready for the next time.I sent Ozeri's Customer Service an email, asking how I could register the pan. Here's their reply:"Thank you for contacting us regarding your inquiry. We are more than happy to assist you at this time. The warranty is a limited lifetime warranty of a 5 year period. Please ensure to keep a record of your purchase invoice or order confirmation. In case that you would need to open a warranty claim, you would provide the purchase invoice and the issue you are experiencing."I'll re-visit this review if anything happens to change the way I feel about it.After 2 years it’s still looking and working great.I haven’t overheated or used metal utensils. It’s heavy and the handle is for big hands If you are wanting a light pan pick something else. The weight makes for better heat distribution and doesn’t cool when adding ingredients so your temp stays constant. Is it worth the cost? I think so, you’ll go through 2 or 3 of another brand before this one wears out. Most ceramic pans I’ve had seems to get real sticky after just a few months. Some look great, but everything sticks like crazy, not this pan.If you don’t mind the weight buy it.Easy to clean, solid and sturdy, this pan is perfect! It’s heavy and will last for years and years; as long as you use it sensibly using soft utensils this will serve you well for many cooked meals. Going to buy it another size as well!!!I bought this primarily to fry my sausage patty and cook my egg in the morning, but it get's used by other members of my family quite a lot. This was not the case using the other 8" non-stick pan which finally met a high-heat death. This skillet is solid as a rock. The down sides are that it takes a bit longer to heat (first world problem) and may be a tiche heavy for small people or the elderly. After 2-3 months of use, I can easily say I'm happy with this pan even though at $120 it aint't cheap. Real thing, like iron cast without iron cast drawbacks.Cooks the best, allows high heat and heat is distributed evenly. Can be used in oven.Very solid - looks and feels indestructible, I hope it lasts. But there is a price - it is heavy, like really substantially heavier than regular fry pans due to three times thicker aluminum body.Beautiful pan with detachable handle for easy storage. Good weight. Even distribution of heat. First class pan that I think will last a lifetime. Super easy to clean and works really well with my induction stove. Love it!
