This pan is decent for what it is. I don't like the solid metal handles of baking-safe pans, so this pan has the design features that I like. The plastic handle is easy to use and doesn't get hot during cooking. I cooked some eggs and corned beef hash, and both of those cooked just fine and cleaning was super easy as you'd expect with a brand new ceramic pan. I think the key to keeping these things nice and easy to clean is to control the temperature. If you overheat them, the non-stick coating stains and quits working very well. We use olive oil for cooking sometimes, which is a great way to remind ourselves to keep the temp down. Above a certain temperature, the olive oil breaks down and burns. So if we keep the temperature suitable for cooking with olive oil, we're pretty sure that we won't be overheating the pan either.Unfortunately this pan has a little bit of a drawback. It is simply just a bit thinner than I like. The base thickness is about where I'd like to see the sides, and the base could be a little thicker. That means it's at a bit higher risk of warping, plus it does not retain heat as well so putting food in an already warmed pan will require a bit more time for the cooking surface to heat back up. Given the price though, I think I got what I paid for.I do wish there was a version of this pan with a lid. So my 2 wishes are slightly thicker material and a lid. But nobody sells a thicker high quality ceramic frying pan with a lid and plastic handle. So we got this one. At least it's not super overpriced.I had never tried using ceramic coated skillets before, and for the price of this set, I thought it was worth trying them out. My old teflon coated pans were scratched, and I was really worried about things leaching into my food -- plus food was starting to stick. I am also a long-time fan of the Farberware brand, so that helped my decision. Let me just say that this set is now my go-to for cooking nearly anything on the stovetop. They clean easily, are perfect sizes for most uses, are very lightweight and have held up well to cooking on a gas stovetop in direct contact with the flame. I am thrilled -- so much so that I'm getting another set of two for birthday gifts for two of my friends who love to cook.Just this year I started converting to ceramic nonstick cookware from the old 'teflon' nonstick. I started with a small skillet, loved it, then a 2qt pot and loved that, too, and worked my way up to THIS giant of a skillet. When I say big, it's big, and large meals can be made in this so easily. It has a quilted type of inside bottom to it and maybe that's an extra good thing, I really don't know. My others are smooth bottomed (we're talking inside the pans) and I see no difference in the cooking. What I do find is that weighing the differences between Teflon and ceramic, Teflon is always completely nonstick until it begins the aging process of wearing off, or worse yet, the flakes that can actually transfer to your food and we don't want that. Ceramic is the closest thing to non stick, sometimes is completely, and other times almost, but if you follow directions and don't try to sear something on High, you'll love it and the ease of cleaning is remarkable. Even high stain foods like tomato sauce wash right off with no effort. I love all my ceramic pans now and so glad I converted, but everyone should have this pan for the shear bigness of it (and lightweight) -- great for spaghetti, lots of chicken and even as a fryer. Temps for this should be followed: Medium and you'll find it's as hot as high on other cookware. I've had no problems with the color coming off, either. All intact, but I will mention that the purple is relatively light and somewhat bland. Not bad, just not as happily bright as the picture. Not so important, though, as it's the use that's important. Another thing is that there is no lid by Farberware to fit this skillet. I used a universal lid (the largest made) and it barely makes it across the pan. Since then, I found one that would work from chefs catalog but the company has just closed it's doors. Personally, I think any company that makes pots and pans should also make the lids that fit, but still, I do love this pan and would recommend it to anyone and remind them to use silicone or wood utensils. After many, many uses it still looks brand new and I am very pleased. Just as an afterthought here, I do hang my ceramic pots and pans and it looks good and protects them as well.I got turned on to ceramic pans a couple years ago. I’m pretty much obsessed with ceramic pans. I don’t have a dishwasher so I wash all my dishes and these pans clean up so easy. Basically all you have to do is put them in the sink and run water over them. If I stir fry with sauce, the most cleanup I may use hot water, a couple drops of dawn, let it sit for 2 min and rinse, and it’s clean. I swear these are like futuristic pans from The Jetsons. This particular pan is lightweight. I like the grey color. It has like a diamond pattern on the bottom. It cooks everything nice and evenly. I do have one complaint, but overall it’s not a big deal, the handle is a little loose and it wiggles. So when I take it out of the cabinet or sink or off the range, that bothers me, but it did not come that way. It loosened up like 2-3 weeks after I started using it. Nonetheless, I would not discourage you from purchasing it. It’s my favorite pan. I have gourmet pans and I keep coming back to this inexpensive little one.un gran producto cuando nuevo. This pan has gone bad after very minimal usage, the surface is still as it was new but now we can never get even an egg cooked without a mess. It's no longer NONSTICK. The better name would be it STICKS and SUCKS
