I have just unpacked this unit and I am impressed. This is a beautiful little stove top. It is well built and appears to include features (see photos) the seller has not included in the description. First of these is a battery powered electronic igniter. Curiously, it looks like it uses a D-cell battery. I haven’t tried the igniter out as I have not had a D-cell battery around for ages. The second feature not in the description are what look like thermocouple sensors on the burners. I assume these are safety features and work with a gas shutoff valve to turn the gas off if there is no flame. The cooktop is completely sealed and can’t readily be taken apart, so I haven’t been able to look inside to confirm this. The gas connection is on the bottom-front and is a standard 3/8” male flare fitting. I am planning on using this unit with propane, which is a liquified petroleum gas (LPG) - not sure why the seller says it won’t work with propane. Perhaps the first reviewer (Shawn) can comment on this. I will try to update my post after I have fired it up.Update: Works just fine with propane (see added picture). Note that without the battery no gas will flow. Be sure to have a spare battery. A couple things I found I don’t like: 1) the battery compartment is all the way in the back making it hard to get to after the cooktop is installed. 2) the propane inlet is in the front pointing down. This gives the cooktop a deeper profile once the gas line is attached. I used a 90 degree elbow on it and that added 2” to the depth making it 4”. I’m going to have to raise the counter or the stove to clear the underneath refrigerator. If I could get to the insides I would reroute the gas inlet to come straight out the back.
