If only used for dry cups/mugs/glasses they're fine. However even the slightest drip is immediately absorbed into the ceramic, like blotting paper. Even prompt wiping with a damp cloth is ineffective and the coaster is permanently stained. As objects to admire they're ok, hence 2 stars. I will not be buying any more.
