An excellent introduction to the Pueblo Indian figurative ceramic tradition, featuring the "inventor" of the Storyteller figure, Helen Cordero of Cochiti Pueblo, but surveying other Pueblo potters also making figures in 1986 when the book was first published, and documenting earlier figures to show that the idea was not unique to Cordero.
