I started with a brass Rock Slide and really loved it! Great tone and feel. And, I learned what using a well fitting slide does for my playing! What a difference! I use brass on my Dobros, glass and sometimes ceramic on my electrics. These slides aren't cheap compared to say a dunlop commercial slide etc. but what a difference. Both the glass and ceramic sound and feel superior to anything else I've used (and I have some original coricidan bottles I used for some years). I also love the ceramic sometimes on my biscuit cone resonator. It adds punch and sustain where it's needed with a guitar like that. The glass slides are the best I've used for electric. As I said, I use the brass on my spider cone dobro resonator. If you buy a larger size (I do for my glass and ceramic for the length) make sure to use some moleskin or something to make the fit snug. There is such an advantage in feel, control, and tone with a slide that fits well. It's an investment to buy these but they do deliver the best performance I've gotten from any slide (and I've tried a whole lotta of slides).
